The BadgeRAE personal gas detector provides 2 years of low-cost, continuous, and maintenance-free protection from exposure to Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) or Carbon Monoxide (CO).The zero-maintenance BadgeRAE does not require calibration, but prudent safety procedure dictates periodic challenges with CO or H2S gas. Only the BadgeRAE provides a bump alert warning with a "Test" message on the display to remind users to "bump" the detector with gas to verify the performance of the sensor and electronics. This procedure is quick and easy and resets the "Test" message.

The zero-maintenance BadgeRAE gas detector does not require calibration, but prudent safety procedure dictates periodic challenges with CO or H2S gas. To encourage this safety practice, the BadgeRAE detector displays a "Test" reminder every thirty days. Using the BadgeRAE Test Station, bump testing couldn't be easier. Simply switch the detector into "bump test" mode, drop it into the Test Station and press the Test button. The Test Station automatically recognizes that a dectector has been loaded. It then automatically checks the LED, the alarms, and the sensor. If the detector passes the tests, the BadgeRAE display is updated, the thirty-day timer is reset, and the detector is ready for use. Because the Test Station has an internal valve to control the flow of gas, it can be set up for use by people who don't want to mess with regulators and gas cylinders. A cylinder of span gas can be connected and the valve left opened - the gas will only flow during a test. Minimizing the amount of gas released during a bump test saves money, too.
