RAE Systems’ UltraRAE 3000 photoionization detector (PID) is an advanced compound specific VOC monitor with both total VOC and compound specific modes. The UltraRAE 3000 can be configured with a 9.8 eV (standard), 10.6 eV, or 11.7 eV PID lamp. Its sensor detects VOCs at an extended range of 0.05–10,000 ppm with improved linearity when in VOC mode and 0.5–200 ppm in benzene specific mode. Integrated humidity and temperature sensors provide compensation and automatic adjustment of the PID. The UltraRAE 3000 features a fast 3 second response time in VOC mode or a 60 second response in a compound specific mode. The UltraRAE 3000 is ideal for a range of applications including hazardous material response, pre-entry screening during plant and refinery maintenance, refinery down-stream monitoring, marine spills, and more.

The UltraRAE 3000 features an IP-65 design for use in harsh environments, high resistance to EMI/RFI interference, memory for 6 months of datalogging at 1 minute intervals, and a 95 dB alarm buzzer with bright flashing LED alarm indications. A new sampling probe design provides instant tube breakthrough visibility. In compound specific mode a 15 minute benzene STEL calculation with real time recording and measurement is possible. The UltraRAE 3000 comes with an integrated correction factor list of more than 200 compounds.
Other hardware features of the UltraRAE 3000 include a large backlit display with intuitive navigation and support for multiple languages. RAE Sep tubes save money and reduce cost of ownership as compared to typical gas detection tubes. The UltraRAE 3000 does not require annual factory calibration and is less expensive to own than a portable GC. Its rechargeable, field-swappable Lithium-ion battery pack provides up to 16 hours of continuous operation and an alkaline battery pack adapter provides additional runtime when needed.
