Pipe and Cable Locator
The Schonstedt TraceMaster II pipe and cable locator is highly advanced, yet simple enough to be used by anyone to locate underground power lines, cables, fiber optic cables, water lines, or gas pipes. All these advanced features are operated with only two buttons on the receiver. The TraceMaster II AF features an RF link between the transmitter and reciever, allowing you to change frequencies from the transmitter and view the battery status of both the transmitter and receiver on the receiver’s LCD display.
When locating pipes and cables the situation determines which frequencies are the most useful. When the signal is weak, or the area congested with utilities, a high frequency signal is typically used for rapid sweeping of the area. Medium range frequencies are normally preferred for actually locating, and low frequency signals are the most efficient for tracing over long distances. The Schondstedt TraceMaster II can provide you with any one or all of these abilities in a single system. The AF model even allows you to switch modes on the fly from the handheld receiver. In addition, unlike other pipe and cable locators, the TraceMaster II requires no periodic calibration.
The TraceMaster II pipe and cable locator is available in two different configurations. Both models have a receiver capable of detection and a transmitter that operates at 575 Hz, 8 kHz, 82 kHz, or 455 kHz. Additionally the receiver also has a passive mode for detection of active power lines at 50 or 60 Hz. The AF model features a remote controlled transmitter allowing the user to switch frequencies from the receiver. The MF model has controls on the transmitter itself to change the frequency.
