Pipe and Cable Locator
With the uniquely designed receiver, included holster, and a transmitter that can fit in your pocket, the Schonstedt XTpc pipe and cable locator can be carried on your tool belt. This pipe and cable locator is available in two different frequencies, 82 kHz for gas and water pipes, and 33 KHz for power lines. It features Schonstedt’s innovative XT design with a retractable tip receiver, pistol grip handle, and easy one handed controls. The XTpc pipe and cable locator displays signal strength on an LCD display in addition to audio output, and can also passively locate 50/60 Hz power lines.
The included transmitter can operate for up to 8 hours on a built in rechargeable NiMH battery and has the maximum power output allowed by FCC regulations. The XTpc’s transmitter features an LCD display for output level, output current, operating mode, and battery life. The built in battery can be charged with either a 12V DC or 120 VAC power source using the included chargers. It also has adjustable power levels, and a single “smart” connector for various clamps, clips, and antenna’s.
The schonstedt XTpc pipe and cable locator system is extremly versatile for it’s portability. It can operate in three different active modes (clamp, conductive, or inductive), includes passive mode capability, and sonde mode with the addition of an optional sonde. Depth measurements are easily acquired at the push of a button up to approximately 19′.
