YSI’s 5000 and 5100 laboratory DO meters are engineered to provide accurate and reliable dissolved oxygen measurements while maintaining ease of use and advanced digital features. Both models are excellent for performing BOD analysis and the 5100 adds built in software for taking OUR/SOUR measurements. High accuracy is achieved through the use of YSI’s 5010 series self stirring BOD probes and automatic temperature, manual salinity, and barometric pressure (automatic on 5100) compensation. The 5010 series probes are powered by the 5000/5100 meters themselves removing the requirement for an additional power supply.

The YSI 5000 and 5100 are for laboratory use only. If you require a single instrument for both lab and field work, the Pro20 handheld DO Meter, ProODO optical handheld DO Meter, EcoSense DO200 economical handheld DO Meter, and the field proven 52/58 classic DO meters are all capable of using interchangeable cables to switch between lab and field work.

Standard features on the 5000/5100 include autostabilization, a graphical LCD dispaly, memory for 100 datasets, real time clock, user upgradeable firmware, and an RS232 interface. The 5100 adds integrated OUR/SOUR measurements and meets US EPA 503 regulations for safe use of biosolids, and allows the user to monitor the activity of microorganisms used during treatment. In addition to OUR/SOUR measurement, the 5100 also includes an internal barometer for auto calibration and automatic compenstation and the ability to use a barcode scanner or keyboard.

YSI also manufacturers the 3100/3200 laboratory conductivity meters.

The 5000 and 5100 are both compatible with YSI’s BOD Analyst Software, which eliminates the need to perform initial measurement of individual sample dilution and conforms with standard Methods for seed depletion, minimum depletion levels, minimum final DO, and seed depletion. It includes built-in safeguards, including a notification if a sample is provided with no corresponding seed sample control.
