Handheld DO Meter

The Pro20 handheld DO meter can switch between lab and field work in a matter of seconds due to its interchangeable cables and probes. Featuring some of the fastest response times in a handheld DO meter (< 8 seconds), automatic barometric compensation, salinity compensation via user supplied values, and easy one touch calibration, the Pro20 allows you to complete your field work quickly and accurately.

The Pro20 is the suggested replacement for both the YSI 55 and the YSI 550A.

The Professional Series from YSI also includes an optical DO meter, the ProODO. The Professional Plus and Pro2030 can provide automatic salinity and barometric compensation to their DO measurements in addtion to the capability to measure other parameters.

The large, graphic, LCD display is easy to read (visible even while wearing sunglasses), and both the display and keypad are backlit. The Pro20 can store 50 sets of data for later review, eliminating the need to write results down. Field cables are available in lengths ranging from 1 to 100 meters, and can use either galvanic or polarographic DO probes. A 2 meter cable with a self stirring BOD probe is also available for lab use.

When deciding between galvanic or polarographic field DO probes, the deciding factor is sensor warmup time vs longetivity. Galvanic sensors require no warmup period and can begin taking readings immediately. Polarographic sensors need 5 to 15 minutes of warmup before measurements can be taken, but have a longer sensor life. Both types of DO probes provide accurate measurements and fast response times.

Like the rest of the Professional Series line from YSI, the Pro20 is IP67 rated (even with the battery cover off), floats, and has military spec connectors. The interface is easy to use and can operate in multiple languages. Power is provided by 2 C alkaline batteries which allow for up to 400 hours of runtime. The Pro20 is backed by a 3 year instrument warranty and a 2 year cable warranty.
