Thermo Scientific Niton XL5 Plus Coating Thickness
XRF Coating Thickness Analyzer
The high power X-Ray Tube and extra large silicon drift detector in the XL5 Plus allow it’s coating mode to measure the thickness of up to 4 layers of coatings in seconds. Provided you know the composition of the coatings this works for both single and multiple element coatings on various substrates. The XL5 Plus is Thermo Niton’s flag ship portable analyzer. It comes standard with many features that are optional on other instruments, including both Macro and Micro cameras for documentation.
