ThermoProbe TP7-C
Petroleum Gauging Thermometer With Cable Reel
Used worldwide in tanks, railcars, pipelines, and barges, the TP7-C is a very simple to use petroleum gauging thermometer with NIST traceable accuracy and a convenient cable reel.
The TP7-C has been discontinued. Rentals are still available.
The new TP7-C replaces the TP7 and offers all the same great features and physical design with the added benefits of new electronics that provide an extended measurement range along with many other enhancements. New features include a stabilization indicator, up/down arrows that indicate in which direction the measurement is trending, on screen menus for calibration/switching units, and an extended battery life of 200 hours.
ThermoProbe's TP7-C intrinsically safe thermometer is excellent for use in tanks, trucks, pipelines, barges, and railcars due to its convenient cable reel system. These digital thermometers offer many advantages over mercury thermometer based measuring techniques while also removing the need to bring the thermometer to the surface to take a reading. Manufacturered from highly resiliant materials, the TP7-C is suitable for use with all petrochemicals and many other liquids including acids and distilled spirits. Multiple probe options are available including a standard weight probe, a railcar probe, and an ashpalt probe for high viscosity petrochemicals.
An accuracy of ±0.2°F (±0.1°C) and long term stability are achieved with the use of a platinum RTD sensor combined with precision electronics. This design also allows for a large measurement range of -40 to 400°F (-40 to 204°C). Every TP7-C can display measurements in either degrees fahrenheit or celsius, features a resolution of 0.1°, and is shipped with a 4 point NIST traceable calibraton certificate.
Simple to use, the TP7-C only requires one button for use and all usability functions are contolled automatically. Using the instrument consists of turning it on and reading the measurement on the display along with a measurement stabilization notification and up/down indicators signaling which way the measurement is trending. Every time the instrument is turned on battery voltage and display integrity are checked. Notifications of possible probe errors or over/under range conditions are indicated to the user. The displays backlight feature is automatically triggered by a sensor, requiring no controls for use. The only feature that requires user action is switching the readout between degrees fahrenheit and celsius. This is easily accomplished via the onscreen menus and the function button. Power is provided by AA batteries with a typical runtime of 200 hours.
