The Tramex Survey Encounter is an advanced moisture in wood meter. It contains a built in library of 32 different wood species, plus 6 construction materials. The Survey Encounter can also measure moisture levels in brick, roofing, siding, plaster, drywall, and other materials. In addition to the built in 32 wood species, the included software contains an additional 300 species of wood that can be swapped into the instruments library. Data can be stored on the instrument and later downloaded for analysis and/or exported to spreadsheet applications.

How it Works

The survey encounter calculates the moisture content in a given material by passing a small non-destructive low frequency electrical signal and directly measuring the impedance of the material. This information, combined with temperature readings and the specific gravity of the material stored in the instrument, allow an accurate calculation of the material’s moisture content.

Calculations are performed in real time and displayed on a backlit LCD display. The moisture content, temperature, date, time, file number, reading number, and material type are stored in non volatile memory.

  Signals are transmitted into the material being tested.
