YSI’s Professional Plus handheld multiparameter water quality instrument provides advanced features, low cost of ownership, and extreme flexibility through its use of interchangeable cables and probes. Options are available for DO, pH, conductivity, ORP, Ammonium, Chloride, and Nitrates. Cables are available for various sensor combinations in lengths ranging from 1 to 100 meters. The Quattro cable allows up to four probes (5 parameters plus barometric pressure) to be monitored simultaneously. Cables can be swapped within seconds allowing the Professional Plus to make an easy transition between the field and the lab.

The YSI Professional Plus is the recommended replacement for the 556 MPS multiparameter meter. It can also be configured to replace the Model 63 pH and conductivity meter, or any of YSI’s classic handheld line, while providing the increased versatility of all the other available probe and cable options.

Other models in the Professional series line from YSI are also available including The Pro2030 for DO and Conductivity, the Pro20 for DO, and the ProODO optical DO meter.

Every Professinal Plus configuration measures temperature (built into every cable) and barometric pressure (built into the instrument). Three types of DO probes are available, galvanic, polarographic, and a self stirring BOD probe that is excellent for lab use. Conductivity probes can also derive resistivity, salinity, specific conductance, and total dissolved solids. The pH probes are very accurate with a resolution of .01 and the ability to perform up to a 6 point calibration. ORP, pH, Ammonium, Chloride, and Nitrate probes can be installed in any cable with an ISE port. A combination pH/ORP probe that uses only 1 ISE port is also available.

Both the galvanic and polarographic DO sensors from YSI feature the same range, accuracy, and resolution. When choosing between the two the deciding factor is warm up time vs sensor longetivity. Galvanic sensors require no warm up time. Polarographic sensors typically require warming up for 5 to 15 minutes, but have a longer sensor life.

The Professional Plus features a large, backlit, graphical LCD display with an integrated help system and multiple languages. Datalogging is built in with enough memory for 2,000 datasets, GLP event logging, and both interval and event based logging capabilities. The included Data Manager software is easy to use and allows the user to manage instruments and data, perform real time studies, and produce graphs. The Professional Plus helps to make your job easier with additional features like auto buffer recognition, auto stabilization, re calibration prompts, and an operating time of up to 80 hours with just 2 C alkaline batteries.

Rugged, easy to use, and reliable, the Professional Plus floats in water and is rated IP-67 even without its battery cover. It is covered by a 3 year warranty on the instrument, and 2 years on cables and probes. Military spec connectors, a rubber overmolded case, a scratch resistant display, and extensive in house drop testing, ensures field durability. The Professional Plus is well suited for the most demanding jobs and will provide many years of service.

YSI Professional Plus Ordering Instructions

The Professional Plus can be ordered as a complete kit below which includes the instrument, cable, probes, and a carrying case or lab dock. Alternatively, all the components can be ordered individually to form a custom configuration. Additional cables and probes can be ordered for use with any Professional Plus.

A custom Professional Plus configuration would consist of the instrument, a cable, and probes for that cable (if they are not included with the cable), all purchased seperately. Multiple cables and sensors can be ordered allowing the Professional Plus to be quickly reconfigured in the field for multiple tasks.

Cables are available below in different lengths and with different ports. All cables include a temperature probe, and some come with sensors included. Cables over 1 meter in length come with a cable management kit. Notes are provided to describe what probes are compatible and need to be purchased seperately. Probes, along with their cable compatibility, are also listed.

Calibration solutions and accessories like flow cells, carrying cases, replacement DO membrane kits, and cable weights are also available.
