Set vapor collection tips up to 12 feet underground and sample vapors with hand vacuum pump. Dedicated sample tips and Retract-a-Tip must be purchased separately below. The AMS Gas Vapor Probe (GVP) Kit is excellent for monitoring and sampling hydrocarbon spill sites, underground storage tanks and pipelines! A stainless steel soil gas vapor probe is inserted in the soil to the desired depth using an AMS slide hammer or gas vapor probe drive extension and electric rotary drive hammer. The gas vapor probe has a barbed fitting for attachment of flouropolymer tubing, enabling remote sampling from the surface. The dedicated tips have slightly recessed vapor inlet holes which helps to prevent clogging during the installation process.

Retract-A-Tip and Dedicated Tip

Dedicated and Retract-a-Tip accessories are available for order in addition to a kit, or separately. A gas vapor probe kit is required to use these accessories. Combining a Retract-A-Tip with the AMS GVP system creates a more versatile field kit, perfect for sampling and monitoring underground storage takes, hydrocarbon spill sites, and pipelines. The Retract-A-Tip works by pulling up the drive tube upon reaching sampling depth to expose the inlet holes for sample collection. On successive sampling routines the drive tip is driven deeper and the process is repeated. The Retract-A-Tip is reusable.
